The Mission

Everything we fund carries the elephant's cause.

Our emblem is alive, whole and in motion. The ivory in our name belongs on the animal, and our work keeps it there.

Protect

Funding for anti-poaching units, ranger equipment, tracking technology and boots on the ground where wildlife is most at risk.

Rescue

Emergency response and veterinary care for injured, orphaned and displaced wild animals, from first call to release.

Restore

Habitat rehabilitation and protected-space initiatives so recovered animals have somewhere wild to return to.

Educate

Community and school programmes that turn the next generation into wildlife's first line of defence.

100% Black female owned

Led by the matriarch. Powered by partnership.

The Ivory Room is a 100% Black female owned, Level 1 B-BBEE entity, in partnership with Wildlife Emergency Fund. Every campaign we run powers Wildlife Emergency Responses, putting real teams behind wildlife emergencies in the field. Corporate donations can be recognised as Enterprise and Supplier Development (ESD) spend, earning B-BBEE scorecard points alongside the impact.

Our Field Partner

Wildlife Emergency Fund: years on the ground.

Wildlife Emergency Fund has spent years stepping in wherever provincial authorities and reserves lack the helicopters, vets or equipment to respond alone, working across Mpumalanga, Zululand and the Greater Kruger National Park.

Rapid Response

A specialist team able to reach a snared, injured or displaced animal within 24 hours of a call coming in, anywhere in the region.

Large-Scale Rescue

Full elephant herd translocations, rhino dehorning and emergency relocations, alongside everyday snare removal and anti-poaching support.

Capacity for Reserves

Helicopter time, veterinary support and equipment supplied to under-resourced reserves at no cost, filling gaps provincial budgets cannot.

Protected Space

Active work to establish new protected areas, so the animals rescued today have somewhere safe to live long after the emergency ends.

Jean Nagiah

Jean Nagiah · Founding Partner, Wildlife Emergency Fund

The Ivory Room's relationship with Wildlife Emergency Fund is a hands-on one. As a founding partner, Jean works directly alongside the WEF team on live interventions in the field, not from behind a desk.

The Ivory Room exists to help keep frontline work like this funded.

Dereck Milburn

Wildlife Emergency Fund

Dereck Milburn works alongside Jean at Wildlife Emergency Fund, bringing years of hands-on conservation experience to the team, including elephant and rhino rescues, anti-poaching operations, habitat rehabilitation and community engagement work across South African reserves.

That includes collaring operations such as this one, carried out with WILDLANDS, the co-management agency of Somkhanda Community Game Reserve, fitting the tracking collars that reserves rely on to manage and protect their elephant and rhino populations.

Where It Goes

Our Promise

The ivory stays on the elephant.

We publish an annual impact and financial report, name the projects we fund, and answer to our donors before anyone else. No gala budgets, no vanity spend: the field comes first.
